Receive long-term support for your recovery journey. Our Outpatient Program (OP) is a step down from IOP and provides addiction treatment sessions to clients who are reintegrating into their lives.
OP addiction counseling sessions are typically 1-hour on an individualized cadence. During IOP, you or your loved one will develop an aftercare plan that is appropriate for your unique situation and treatment progress.
Because the first year of sobriety is considered the most critical, many clients choose to continue addiction counseling for their first year of recovery.
Is Outpatient Rehab Right For Me?
At Stages of Recovery, we treat individuals suffering from addiction to a variety of substances, including alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, and other substances. If you find yourself unable to moderate your substance use or unable to stop on your own, addiction treatment is probably right for you. Some questions to ask yourself might be:
- Is your substance use affecting your home life?
- Is substance use affecting your job?
- Is substance use affecting school performance?
- Is substance use affecting your health?
- Are you experiencing legal consequences as a result of substance abuse?
- Do you find when you drink or use, you often “overshoot the mark”?
- Have you made promises to stop drinking or using and find yourself unable to?
- Do you experience physical symptoms when you limit drinking or drug use?
If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, it may be time to seek an assessment with an addiction specialist. Our compassionate specialists are standing by to offer toll-free, no-obligation assessments: (806) 412-4721
Even if addiction treatment is right for you, outpatient treatment may not be most suitable as your first line of treatment. If you are physically dependent on substances, meaning you experience withdrawal symptoms, you will first need to complete detoxification.
At Stages of Recovery, clients must be free from drugs and alcohol starting at their first session, which means many clients first complete inpatient treatment to treat their physical dependency. Our program is designed to treat the psychological and behavioral components of addiction – not the physical.
Though we do not provide detox, we partner with several medical detox providers in the Oklahoma City and Central Oklahoma area. If you aren’t sure if you first need detox, give us a call today for an assessment: (806) 412-4721
Finding Detox Centers in Oklahoma City
A detox center is a specialized medical facility designed to manage drug and alcohol withdrawal. Because many substance cause painful and even dangerous withdrawal symptoms, medical detox is often required to safely remove drugs or alcohol from someone’s body.
In a detox center, withdrawal is far more comfortable than quitting “cold turkey” because the body is slowly weaned off of substances with the help of medications, known as a taper. A taper reduces both unpleasant psychological symptoms as well as riskier physical symptoms, like tremors, seizures, and even heart attack or stroke.
Not all substance addictions require a medical detox, but generally, you should never attempt to quit cold turkey and should always first seek advice from a medical professional. Some substances that almost always require detox include:
- Benzodiazapines, or “Benzos”, such as Xanax, Valium, Ativan, or Klonopin
- Heroin & fentanyl
- Prescription opioids, such as OxyContin, Percocet, or Vicodin
- Prescription sleep medications, such as Ambien
- Muscle relaxers
Fortunately, most insurance plans cover detox when it is medically appropriate, though you may have a deductible or other out-of-pocket costs depending on your plan.

Inpatient Rehabs in Oklahoma City
Some of our clients first complete an inpatient or partial hospitalization program (PHP) prior to coming to our program. Both inpatient and PHP are around 15-30 days and offer a highly structured level of treatment.
In a residential or PHP rehab, clients are not able to work or go to school, and instead attend treatment sessions for the majority of the day. Whether inpatient treatment is appropriate will depend on your substance use history, type of substance use, treatment history, mental health, and other factors.
Though we do not provide this level of care in Oklahoma City, we do provide partial hospitalization treatment at our Texas location. We also partner with many inpatient programs here in Oklahoma and would be happy to provide a referral.
