Reasons for Misusing Adderall to Study
Getting into a good college can be competitive. Furthermore, once a student is in college, it can seem harder than expected. To do their best and meet expectations from parents, friends, and even themselves, students look for ways to increase their chances of good grades.
- Stay Awake: The most common reason college students use this drug is to stay up for a long time to study for exams, finish projects, or write papers.
- Focus: Staying awake is not enough. Students need to be focused during that time to retain what they read and learn; otherwise, staying awake is useless. Being able to hyper-focus is what a study drug is all about for students.
- Be Smarter: This aspect is a mistaken belief on students’ part. Misusing drugs never increases your IQ. Drugs make you think you are more intelligent, and substances such as Adderall can make you feel a lot of things, many of which are not real.
Study drugs have become an urban legend on campuses around the world. Students may learn about their “powerful” effects before they even enter college. Unfortunately, the so-called benefits of these drugs have resulted in extensive abuse of them by students.
