Stages of Recovery’s staff members train in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR centers around bringing the logical, rational side of the brain back “online.” Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing has risen in popularity over the previous years and claims an 83% success rate. Aside from EMDR, we provide Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and prescribe medications to help patients overcome addiction and trauma.
Our staff consists of Certified Clinical Trauma Professionals (CCTP), an on-staff Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, with Masters-Level Counselors available.
The time spent in trauma treatment varies by patient, and we incorporate a patient’s history into a personalized trauma treatment plan. While our primary focus is on treating substance abuse, we filter addiction through the lens of trauma therapy for those who need it.
Trauma informed care and trauma treatment is intense. It is not to be taken lightly, especially in the outpatient setting. As such, our focus during early treatment is primarily on substance use, trigger management, coping skills, relapse prevention, and stabilization. We help patients work on these factors and become stable before moving into more intense trauma specific treatment.
